The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is pleased to announce that environmental educator and interpreter Yehehnakwáhstha? (pronounced yeh-heh-naw-gwaw-staw) Kim Hill has joined the Bureau of Historic Sites staff as Interpreter of Native American History. Hill, Tuscarora Beaver Clan, is from the Tuscarora Nation, near Niagara Falls, New York.

State Parks Announces Completion of $3 Million Improvement Projects at Green Lakes State Park
New York State Parks today announced the completion of $3 million in improvements at Green Lakes State Park in Onondaga County. A new cabin camping area and a nearby playground and four-season bathhouse were designed for small groups of children to camp overnight and recreate.
Ladders to the Outdoors Program Returns to Harriman State Park This Summer to Promote Outdoor Participation, Environmental Stewardship
The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) and New York State’s Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) are proud to announce the second annual “Ladders to the Outdoors” program at Harriman State Park. Taking place now through Labor Day, the program offers park guests free opportunities to learn about and engage with their natural environment through guided outdoor activities.

Governor Hochul Announces Completion of $6.5 Million Rehabilitation of the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced completion of a $6.5 million project to improve the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park from Rochester to the village of Avon. Rehabilitation of the 17-mile stretch at the north end of the greenway was supported by a $2.5 million grant from the not-for-profit Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, created after the 2014 death of the former owner of the Buffalo Bills, as well as state and federal funding.
